Why Bailan2?

Bailan2 is a renowned dance school located centrally in Drammen, Norway, offering a unique dance environment for dance enthusiasts. The school stands out by providing top-notch instruction in Latin dance, led by the professional instructors Andy & Yuliet. With a diverse range including Cuban salsa, Son, Bachata, Cha Cha Cha, Reggaeton, Rueda de Casino, styling, and more, Bailan2 gives an opportunity to explore and immerse yourselves in a variety of Latin dance styles.

Bailan2 not only focuses on teaching dance techniques but also emphasizes creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment for the students. The school prioritizes cultural exchange, personal development, and most importantly, a strong social community among the students. Through monthly parties and events, Bailan2 gives students the chance to come together, practice what they have learned in dance classes, and bond on and off the dance floor.

A special and engaging activity that the school uses at parties and events is animation. It is a sequence where instructors demonstrate a shared dance routine that students then imitate. This not only creates a fun and inclusive atmosphere but also gives students the opportunity to practice collaboration, timing, and coordination while exploring new movements and expressions.

With its engaging teaching environment, focus on culture and social cohesion, Bailan2 stands out as a leading dance school.

Andy & Yuliet

Andy & Yuliet are a pair of Cuban dancers with international renown, known for their authenticity, technical skill, and unique teaching approach. Originally from Cuba and now based in Drammen, Norway, they have achieved what few artists accomplish in such a short time: becoming ambassadors of Cuban culture in Europe and around the world.

Since joining forces in 2019, Andy and Yuliet have developed a solid and accessible methodology that has allowed them to teach all styles of Cuban dance—from traditional rumba to modern reggaeton—with depth, clarity, and passion. Their teaching not only conveys steps and movements, but also history, emotion, and context, allowing each student to experience dance as a complete cultural experience.

Internationally recognized for:

✅ Their teaching methodology: structured, clear, and adaptable for all levels, always respecting the cultural roots of each style.

✅ Their versatility: they master both folk dances and current popular genres, allowing for comprehensive training.

✅ Their authentic connection to music: they teach from the heart, working with the body, rhythm, and soul.

✅ Their global presence: they have brought Cuban dance to stages, festivals, and high-level dance schools in various European countries.

In addition to their work as instructors and performers, Andy & Yuliet are the organizers of Bailan2 Puro Cubano Festival, the only event in Norway dedicated exclusively to Cuban culture. This festival not only brings together top-level dancers, musicians, and artists, but it is also a meeting point for the Cuban and international community that values the authenticity and cultural richness of the island.Their mission is clear: to preserve the essence, share the tradition, and spread the vibrant energy of Cuban dance to the world.

Andy Varona

He was born in Havana, Cuba and since he was very young he feels inclined to music and dance. His beginnings were in the streets, highlighting his ability in the urban genre, reggaeton.

In 2007 he began his journey in professional life, being part of the prestigious modern dance company of Cuba, Narciso Medina.

Then came the great folkloric experience, first with the company Raíces Profundas, then with the Conjunto Folclórico Nacional de Cuba and later with the company Banrrara. Five years of enrichment and training, dancing in the biggest stages of Cuba.

Since 2014 he is part of the rumba group Osain del Monte.

In the same year he received the title of First Dancer, the highest evaluation granted by the National Council of Performing Arts of Cuba.

He was a dancer in the Buena Vista Social Club show, and was able to dance on the biggest stages in Europe, such as the Palais des Congress in Paris, France.

He arrives in Europe in 2014, and since then has been on the international festival scene, and today is one of the most recognized young male figures.

He currently lives in Norway, where together with her partner and dancer Yuliet Estrada they are carrying out a project called Bailan2.

Yuliet Estrada

Yuliet was born in Havana, and dancing has been a big part of her life since she was a child.

She developed as a dancer in the Conjunto Folclorico de la Universidad de la Habana.

She has performed with shows and has presented herself in both national and international competitions, such as in 2007 she was the first place in the 1st International Festival of Popular and Ballroom Dances, in Havana.

She was part of the fusion show of the Laura Alonso’s Prodanza Academy of Dance

In 2008 Yuliet moved to Oslo, Norway where she has worked as a dancer and choreographer ever since.

She has successfully participated as a dancer and instructor in many national and international festivals.

She was a part of the project Rhythms of the Caribbean with the Norwegian organization Riggsekken, which brings culture and dance to the most remote places in the country.

In 2019 she decided to join her professional career with dancer Andy Varona, and since then they have taken her work to big international events and festivals. Together they started the Bailan2 Project, which in such a short time has started to have great acceptance in the dance scene in Norway.

JUAN ANTONIO

Juan grew up to the pulse of Cuban rhythms in Mexico City, dancing professionally with Danzantillando and refining styles like mambo, bachata, cha-cha and merengue. His calm presence brings precision, confidence and an easy smile to the dance floor.

Juan & Lillann met through dance in Mexico and, in 2016, moved to Drammen to start a new adventure: founding VidaLatina. Their journey later led them to join Bailan2, where they now share their love for dance.

For them, dance is a universal language that builds community, frees movement, and radiates pure joy. In every class, they guide students personally to grow just beyond their comfort zone, always in a warm, inclusive atmosphere full of rhythm. They blend the precision and discipline of ballroom with the freshness and spark of street dance, creating a unique style that inspires and connects.

LILLANN IVERSEN

Lillann is energy personified. She entered the ballroom world at four, reached Norway’s national sports-dance team by thirteen, and—after a chance encounter with salsa in Spain in 2005—has taken Latin dance to stages across the globe as part of Jazzy’s show team in Oslo and other international crews.

Since their paths first crossed while dancing in Mexico, Juan & Lillann have built a journey defined by passion and cultural connection. Settled in Drammen since 2016, they began with VidaLatina and later joined Bailan2, bringing their expertise to an ever-growing dance community.

Their philosophy is simple: dance should feel natural, personal, and fun. They believe in the power of music to break barriers, bring people together, and inspire confidence. Their classes combine the technique and elegance of ballroom with the vibrant energy of street dance, creating a space where every student receives encouragement, tools, and the push they need to go beyond their limits and discover their full potential.
